The Symptomis Never The
Whole Story
is Never The
Whole Story
There are parts of your story that make sense. Even if they don’t feel that way yet. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin
The patterns you repeat, the emotions that feel disproportionate, the thoughts that seem to come from nowhere — none of it is random.
Often, what drives us is not fully conscious. It reveals itself in how we speak, how we relate, and in the meanings we’ve carried — sometimes without realizing it.
Therapy becomes a space to slow that down, to explore what’s beneath the surface, and to begin understanding yourself in a way that feels more coherent and your own. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.

Answers to your questions.
It’s completely normal to have questions before reaching out. Here are the ones I hear most often.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something just isn’t quite right — therapy may be exactly what you need. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come to therapy simply wanting to understand themselves better or navigate a difficult season.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know each other. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and what a good outcome looks like for you. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we move at your pace.
How long will I be in therapy?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people find clarity in a few months; others choose to continue longer for deeper work. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust based on your goals.Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes — all sessions are conducted virtually via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. You can access care from anywhere in New York State.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed appointments will be charged the full session rate. If an emergency arises, please communicate as early as possible.
Do you accept insurance?
Verity is currently in the process of credentialing with several insurance providers. In the meantime, I am an out-of-network provider and can provide a superbill after each session for potential reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.
Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed is strictly confidential. There are a few legally mandated exceptions — such as risk of harm to yourself or others — which I will explain clearly during our first session.
How do I get started?
Simply reach out by email at [email protected]. We’ll schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit — no commitment required.
What makes your approach different from other therapists?
My work is grounded in honesty and collaboration. I bring together CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy so that our work is both practical and deeply personal. You will never feel like just a case file here.
Do you work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds?
Absolutely — and intentionally so. I have extensive experience working with individuals from diverse communities, including people of color. Your identity and lived experience are central to the work we do together.
